The service is regularly quick, good vibes, welcoming staff members. I will return again when I am in town.
Great coffee and food, quiet, with good music (Emilie Claire Barlow radio on Pandora.)
The food and service was wonderful. We came for brunch and the dishes that we had were light, flavorful, and delicious. They also had bottomless mimosas, which was a plus
Salmon gravlox was excellent
Wide variety of delicious starter plates, along with a decent wine list. Also, sangria! We shared a couple of plates with coffee. Comfy sidewalk seating. Very quick and friendly service. Decent vegetarian options. Highly recommended!
This is my favorite place for breakfast meetings. The avocado toast hits the spot, but there's lots more on the menu. Service and coffee are terrific, and it's quiet enough to have good conversations.
Great lunch options. The open face curry chicken was good as was the Mediterranean quinoa salad.
Great food and wonderful staff!
Excellent coffee and tartines
Great neighborhood wine bar plus awesome food
While the food is well made, the service could use a little work. The four of us all ordered food, but only 3 of us got our food at the same time, we had to wait 15 minutes for her to receive her entree. The coffee and espresso are well made, and the music fits the atmosphere very well, but I think their management could use a little to sort out staff problems.
Good espresso drinks and food. We were looking forward to the gluten free chocolate cake. It's been dropped. It's been several years since we last ate here. Prices in Houston have gone up a lot compared to increases in Austin. Fracking oil money?
Good
Great hidden gem in Rice Village. The decour, wine and tartines were outstanding. Excellent service, kudos to my server Frank
Great service every time! Amazing wine and coffee! Absolutely bangin empanadas!
Poor service The lady in the front is not welcoming! The food was not as tasty it’s only looked ok I will not come back!
Good food.
Diverse menu. Good value. Self service works smoothly. Good place to talk and eat.
I love comic here! Art nuveau above the counter, classical music and delicious food. It's a darling cultural escape from the hectic rice village pace. I usually get the quiche with salmon which comes with a side salad. Their pastries are delightful and the service is quick.
Very nice place at the back where private dinner for a small group of people can take place. Very nice happy hour appetizers.
Amazing! Great empanadas!
Quiet, classy, and cheerful service
Almost absent service. Dirty tables. Truly bad food and kind of expensive. Avoid like the pest.
Nice street side seating, good wine good place for conversation.
It has good coffee drinks (and the best mocha frappe in town). The food is hit or miss. Today I had the empanada platter. The ham and cheese empanada was great, but not quite warm enough. The chicken empanada was too hot and too spicy. The side salad was pretty good tho. My friend had the crab avocado salad and she was not impressed. She rated it 3 out of 5 because the dressing was sweet. The service was good. I'll be back.
Great service. Relaxing atmosphere combined with beautiful art nouveau painted walls makes this a great spot for coffee or wine with friends or a date.
Great staff wonderful food
Decent healthy food, creatively presented. Upscale casual. I have been there twice and plan to keep returning when I am in the area.Portion sizes are appropriate for people who rest normal and not supersized amounts.Tip: the lunch combos are a good value.
It's a small place, really good food. Casual and friendly.
Very lovely place. Food is excellent as well as the service!
Great little dining place in the Rice Village area. Good service, good food and depending on the time of day and evening parking is possible in the front. Can get crowded however with Covid-19 it's been okay and not terrible since it reopened.
Cheers to @salentobistrot for 15 years!!🎉 Like a fine wine, Salento Bistrot continues to get better with age! Their new "Mix & Match" lunch and "Chef's Special" dinner menu features scrumptious latin and European bites like Grilled Salmon Fish Tacos! 🌮 What's really mind blowing is their week day happy hour and Monday-Tuesday $10 Tartine Bar! The best happy bites in Rice Village!🍹.
Lousy service, overcooked food and dirty tables. What less can you ask?
Nice little Italian bistro, coffee and retail wine sales
One of my favorite places, Salento has great food, drink, service, and location.
I rarely leave negative reviews on restaurants but I am still very upset at what happened at this restaurant last night. My friend and I were out celebrating her birthday. We had already eaten dinner at another restaurant in Rice Village and decided to try Salento for coffee and dessert. The hostess was very rude when we asked what desserts they offered. Then she refused to seat us because my friend had a small take out box in her hand with leftover food from our dinner that she had planned to take home with her. The hostess informed us that "no outside food" was allowed in their restaurant and would not serve us. I do not understand this rule when my friend did not plan to eat that food in their restaurant. She was planning on taking it home with her. I love Rice Village but I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Came for afternoon coffee, stayed for happy hour and wine tasting. Sidewalk seating allows for great people watching. Wednesday evenings, 5pm, wine tasting by a helpful Brazilian national. Range of food items to suit most appetites.
Salento Bistrot is a excellent place to bring family and friends and even coworkers! They have delicious and fresh food and all sorts of options from an open faced sandwich to empanadas!
Although not French, this is perhaps the most Parisian-looking bistrot in Houston. The atmosphere is relaxed, with good music, a very European menu, and drinkable wine at a good price. A great place to relax and catch up with a friend.
A sensible breakfast in a chic setting
Tough to find parking, but breakfast is excellent.
Worst place to eat. A ridiculous menu. Extremely expensive cheap food . 2 tacos topped each with a slice of tasteless salmon and shredded cabbage for 18$. 2 glasses of cheap wine and a large slice of bread covered with hummus and 4 shrimp on top of the bread another 18 dollars . All in all , 2 appetizers and 2 glasses of cheap wine for $76. 3 tables were occupied the whole evening . It is a sadly ridiculous restaurant. Do not waste your time there. I will not mention the small tacos with a tiny slice of bland salmon because it was not edible. They have no respect for the client. Any comment with more than one star was posted by friends of owner. It is impossible for anyone to enjoy that junk.
Nice place to eat and/or just drink wine. The empanadas were delicious!
This was the perfect place to pop into and hide from the rainy conditions outside. Ambiance was perfect. Wait staff was attentive and caring. They made great recommendations on foods and vino. Highly suggest a visit.
super nice
Unless I came on an off day, my omelette was terrible. I took a few bites and lost my appetite. Maybe it was a new cook but it was tasteless.
Very welcoming and pretty real coffee
Great and flavorful food, I love the ambience this spot has, and the workers were kind. Will definitely eat here again.
Lovely place but I wanted cinnamon iced tea and it tastes like regular...good but no cinnamon
Yesssssss huntteeee
